Domestic Terrorism Prevention Unit Position

The incumbent of this position will report to the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Unit within the Office of Counter Terrorism.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Collaborate in the development, modification, and evaluation of policies and protocols governing the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Unit's targeted violence and domestic terrorism prevention initiatives with specific regard to colleges and universities in New York State.
• Assist with the research, analysis, and development of targeted violence and domestic terrorism prevention education and outreach program to tertiary education institutions in New York State.
• Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing event logistics for statewide conferences, unit meetings, seminars, and stakeholder meetings.
• Facilitate communication and coordination with targeted violence and domestic terrorism prevention subject matter experts, agency representatives, and community leaders throughout New York State.
• Assist in conducting analysis to evaluate event and meeting improvement effectiveness through participant feedback and performance metrics to improve future event execution.
• Coordinate and assist with statewide targeted violence and domestic terrorism prevention education and outreach support to any requesting entity including faith communities, mental and behavioral health organizations, law enforcement organizations, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and social services entities throughout New York State.
• Track, update, streamline, and maintain available resources on targeted violence and domestic terrorism prevention in a central location for diverse community stakeholders.
• Draft correspondence, policy, white papers, standards, bulletins, advisories, progress reports, and study results on targeted topics.
• Represent the agency at conferences, meetings, and in program reviews related to targeted violence and domestic terrorism prevention as appropriate.
• Support the development of project plans, deliverables, and analytical analysis for executive review.
• Review and analyze local government domestic terrorism prevention plans.
• Assist in disaster response and recovery activities as required and assigned.
• Travel will be required. 30%. Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License issued by the Department of Motor Vehicle is required, or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

NON-COMPETITIVE

Six years of experience in intelligence analysis, homeland security, counter terrorism, emergency preparedness analysis and assessment, or investigations.

Substitution: An associate degree may substitute for two years of experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of experience; a master's degree may substitute for five years of experience; and a doctorate may substitute for six years of experience.

Additional Comments:

NOTE: Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.
